Losing a job can feel overwhelming, confusing, and almost like losing an important
part of yourself. Oftentimes, we place our value on "what we do" and not necessarily in "who we are". This is why losing a job can be much more than a financial setback. It can be emotionally, mentally, and even socially challenging. In a culture that often equates self-worth with career "success", job loss can trigger feelings of shame, isolation, and uncertainty about the future. What if this transition could also be a catalyst for growth, resilience, and renewed purpose?
That’s the heart of Resilient Transitions. This support group is designed for individuals in Washington, DC, who were recently fired or laid off from their jobs. This group isn’t just about finding the next job—it’s about rediscovering your confidence, building a strong support network, and developing the skills needed to navigate career changes with clarity and resilience.
As a therapist specializing in anxiety, stress, and life transitions, I’ve seen firsthand how job loss can impact mental health. Feelings of grief, self-doubt, and fear of the unknown can be overwhelming. I also know that healing happens in community. That’s why this group is designed to provide a safe space where individuals can:
Process their emotions without judgment
Learn healthy coping strategies to manage stress and uncertainty
Set S.M.A.R.T. goals to regain a sense of direction
Connect with others who understand the experience
Each session combines mindfulness techniques, guided discussions, and practical strategies for resilience. Whether you’re navigating financial worries, rethinking your career path, or simply looking for support, this group is here to help you move forward with intention.
