Back-to-School? Keep Your Cool!

Hello families! As we return to the 2023-2024 school year, it can be really exciting, or nerve-wrecking for some. It's important to help children recognize their thoughts, feelings, and how it impacts their behaviors. At times, when children feel anxious or nervous, they may begin to act out or exhibit psychosomatic symptoms, such as stomach-aches, difficulty sleeping, headaches, etc. Mindfulness exercises can be very helpful in helping children (and adults) to manage their emotions and to identify their thoughts and feelings. As a family, you all can work together to make a plan to find ways to have peace and "keep your cool" during this transitional period. Check out the link above for a list of mindfulness activities.
